Outreach

SMART is a tutoring program matching students at Bishop Elementary School with Mayflower volunteers. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the school year, our trained and screened volunteers meet mostly one-on-one with the children for help with reading and to provide them with friendship and a meal.

FIRST SUNDAYS are our chance to share a community meal with each other and our neighbors. The FIRST SUNDAY of each month we welcome 30-60 of our neighbors to eat with us in a meal that we share together. It is a highlight of our community life.

Mayflower has an active and thriving partnership with HIS HANDS MINISTRIES. HIS HANDS is an independent non-profit ministry sharing building space with our church. HIS HANDS provides services to our community on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm, offering food, clothing and prayer.

Mayflower Church also actively partners with Inter-Faith Community Services. Inter-Faith provides basic human services and enrichment programs to low-income people using community resources. Inter-Faith fosters self-sufficiency and respects the dignity of each client. Inter-Faith serves
the people of Centennial, Englewood, Glendale, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Lone Tree, Sheridan and unincorporated Arapahoe County. We collect food and monetary donations monthly, provide school supplies and clothing for back-to-school, and gifts and clothing for families and seniors at Christmas time. Mayflower was an integral part in the founding of Inter-Faith in 1964.

Mayflower is a "5 for 5" congregation supporting the work of the national setting of the United Church of Christ through regular contributions to Our Churches Wider Mission and four special offerings.

Comunidad Liberacion – Liberation Community

Our partner church, Comunidad Liberacion, is a bilingual worshipping community now meeting in Aurora. This ministry of Mayflower UCC emphasizes justice, human rights, and is led by Rev. Anne Dunlap.
